 this is the 3rd time Phil & I Have done this install.

it gets EASIER each time....

BUT its still a TIGHT Fit with no wiggle room.

 

i sent out the 72 OIL consul for a thermostat install upgrade.


taking no chances i sent out the 72 tank to be ultrasonically cleaned and pressure tested..

 

 ALL new lines were installed to make sure the soon to be installed SS 3.2 MOTOR will be running clean oil..

here are the FINNED oil lines installed..from the tank forward

 





 still have to install the line from the tank to the engine cooler.

i have decided to add a Few 'Back date " SWB Items,

subtle details that my NOT jump Out at first glance.

ONE OF THE MANY UNIQUE FEATURES OF MY 72 STR 02 ARE THE  CUSTOM REPROFILED STEEL TURBO FLAIRS...

 

HERE IS HOW IT WAS DONE..

 THE CAR HAD SOME BAD FIBERGLASS FLAIRS THAT WERE REMOVED....

 OVER 40 HOURS OF WORK WENT INTO THE NEW STEEL FLAIRS.

next up the centre hood fill gas tank


we started with a brand new one.


there are a few ways to do this next step..




cutting the hole in the hood requires both the tank & the hood to be fully bolted in place & correctly adjusted...

then it is a case of measeure 2 or 3 times & cut once...

this is how we did it.

as always there other ways to do the same thing :)





 

 at this point we could have called it done....

we went a step further....:)
